Since 1980, SIS (Societa' Italiana Software) has designed and installed personal computer networks. Their first important software product, SETA (a notary's office management system) achieved great success due to its power, simplicity, and high degree of network integration. And the success of the company and its software continues today - here are just a few of the highlights:
1989: SIS entered the Italian radio and television broadcasting market with ETERE, a powerful and modular program that solves administrative problems at both broadcasting stations and advertising agencies. And today, more than 650 broadcasters are using ETERE!

1992: SIS expanded ETERE software to interconnect all aspects of broadcast operations. A new product was born, one that harmonized the state-of-the-art in "global" management systems.

Mid-1993: SIS marketed the first PC-based Digital Radio System, perfectly integrating both traffic and administrative requirements. In the same year NOVELL certified ETERE as a network software program.

December 1993: More than 40 radio stations have replaced their traditional "on air" operations with an ETERE LAN.

1994: Many nation-wide broadcasting networks and even more medium-to-small radio and television stations are on air with ETERE. The system's flexibility and adaptability was the key.

December 1994: SIS introduced RD72 to the market, a hard-disk based Digital Video Recorder using entirely new technology - 100% Italian made.

January 1995: The first fully automatic Broadcast Television Automation System takes to the air. ETERE TV superbly integrates RD72 digital technology with traditional videotape recorders.

March 1995: More than 650 customers and over 3000 computers are using ETERE Broadcast Automation Software! This remarkable package interfaces more than 50 different automation and cart systems. Best of all, ETERE is always up-to-date with legal and marketing requirements, providing customers with monthly software updates.

June 1995: the first radio station with all audio on disk, using RAID technology.

December 1995: the 40th RD72 digital disk recorder was sold.

February 1996: The first ELS, multiformat TV tape library was installed.

June 1996: The first RD74, low cost single channel disk recorder was installed.

July 1996: SIS interface the Quantel Clipbox video server.

August 1996: ETERE Titler was born, it is the first low cost system for titles and graphs on video, 100% SIS, the ideal solution for small TV stations.

December 1996: ETERE plays on air commercials for RAI (Italian state television) with a system composed of 6 Tektronix Profile and a video & ethernet link of more than 14 km.

January 1997: ETERE windows first release.

February 1997: ETERE windows traffic management reaches 200 stations.

February 1997: The first RD73, the new technology digital disk video server is shipped.

March 1997: ETERE Music manager with its 32-bit client server supersedes all EUREKA installations. Eureka was the old dos music scheduling software.

April 1997: ETERE Player, the first 32 bit digital assistant for live radio automation, is installed.

June 1997: ETERE is on air on Rai ASIA satellite station.

December 1997: ETERE puts on air on Canal+ Match Music, using a new technology with 3 profiles in two different sites (200 km), connected with an ISDN wan and a video link.

January 1998: ETERE stops the production of devices for radio or TV automation, and decides to focus on software products only.

February 1998: ETERE is on air in Israel with Educational TV.

March 1998: ETERE is on air in Albania with Top Albania Radio.

April 1998: ETERE's first time at NAB ( Las Vegas) .

May 1998: ETERE is on air in Portugal with Pax and Radio Palmela.

October 1998: ETERE is on air with Video Italia; this musical channel uses the ETERE approach of Full caching, and with Tektronix technology is a real television in a box. The integrated Profile & Pls 200 system uses less than 40 rack units for the whole Automation system.

November 1999: ETERE plans no to support Novell netware in the future, as the Novell system does not guarantee stability and reliability for the future. All the new products will be certified on Windows NT networks only.

January 1999: With Kanaal Z, a financial news based station, ETERE puts on air its first system in Belgium.

March 1999: ETERE starts with Seachange videoserver integration.

April 1999: SIS decides to split in two different companies; ETERE remains in SIS and the new SIS Nord Italia receives the whole Public notaries software business. This parting allows SIS to better focus on its main business as well as on a new aggressive approach to the Automation market.

June 1999: ETERE PRO, the ETERE special version for Tektronix Profile PRO videoserver, sells more than 10 units in a month.

June 1999: Rai SPORT chooses ETEREAutomation.

July 1999: SONY Broadcast & Professional Europe is a Partner of SIS.

September 1999: Great success at IBC (Amsterdam) for ETEREAutomation, in SIS, GVG, Seachange and Doremi booths.

September 1999: Seachange is a Partner of SIS.

October 1999: IBTS, another success. SIS booth was constantly full of very interested operators.

October 1999: Engineer Fabio Gattari, president of SIS, held a forum at IBTS on "Full caching TV".

November 1999: ANICAFLASH and SAT2000 are on air with ETEREAutomation.

December 1999: SKYCABLE, the Philippine multichannel satellite TV station, is on air with ETEREAutomation.

December 1999: RadioItalia Anni60, the new satellite network, is on air with ETERE Radio Automation.

February 2000: CLASS EDITORI chooses ETEREAutomationfor its financial dedicated TV.

April 2000: ETEREAutomation presents at NAB the new modules ETERE News and ETERE Clone.

May 2000: RAI International chooses ETERE to automate its 5 satellite channels.

June 2000: ETERE's first time, in Singapore, to "BroadcastAsia" (the most important broadcast exhibition in the Asian/Pacific area) at SeaChange's booth.

June 2000: ETERE installs its automation system both in Portugal and Spain, with Canal Saude and Canal Medicina (Lisbon) and ETB (Bilbao).

July 2000: ETERE WEB is born, the first integration between automation and web.

July 2000: Canal+ is on air with ETEREAutomation.

September 2000: SISsrl changes its name after its software and becomes ETEREsrl.

November 2000: ETERE decided to move its database towards the Microsoft SQL2000 ® platform.

November 2000: TeleCapri chose the ETERE. The special thing about that installation was that a part of their schedule would be made and controlled at a studio in Naples and just after it would be transferred and broadcasted in Capri.

December 2000: RTL 102.5 gave birth to 102.5 Hit Channel, and they are both using ETERE.

December 2000: EVS Broadcast Equipment requested interfaces for their videoservers.

January 2001: ETERE for Netsystem.com, the first Italian Web-TV.

February 2001: ETERE had a nominee and won the price for the best TV-Automation software. The AWARDS 2000 were assigned directly at the broadcast market.

March 2001: Group "Il sole 24 ore" chose ETERE for the On-air broadcasting and schedule of 24OreTV and also for their satellite channel.

April 2001: ETERE developed IP drivers for SeaChange videoservers.

May 2001: The "new" RETE A decided to select ETERE and Sony Broadcast & Professional for their new digital system.

June 2001: ETERE Logger was chosen for cataloguing and archiving the material made during the second edition of the "Big Brother".

August 2001: ETERE Logger is being used for Highlights football.

October 2001: MAX MEDIA, the station from Missoula in Montana, chose ETEREAutomation for the broadcasting on their 5 TV channels.

2001: during the last year, ETERE has participated to many events where it had a great success. Some of those exhibitions are NAB, BroadcastAsia, IBC, IBTS, DTV European Tour 2001, FOR-A Open house in Japan, INTER BEE in Tokyo.

December 2001: CENTER TV, the main TV station in Moscow, chose ETERE for the management and automation of their journalistic redaction.

January 2002: Nova TV (Croatia) is broadcasting with the technology offered by ETERE Automation.

March 2002: MTV Italy chose ETERE to reorganize their installations in Milan.

August 2002: RAI chose ETERE Automation to manage and program the new commercial installation for all 3 RAI networks.

October 2002: ETERE has participated to the modernization of Antenna TV installations, the Greek TV station that broadcasts in the whole country.

January 2003: A digital multi-channel automated play out and commercial insertion system has been successfully installed at SOLAR Entertainment Corporation's uplink station.

March 2003: ETERE has won for the 3rd year in a roll as the best TV automation software.

May 2003: ETERE has decided to bring up a big new to its Customer Support Service: starting from June 3rd the service is going to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

July 2003: Etabeta SpA has decided to confirm again ETERE system for the new TV station that it produces.

September 2003 : ETERE is on-air in India with Vijay TV.

January 2004: Etere started the 2004 with a big success: 4 Filipino channels of ABS-CBN Global Ltd has chosen ETERE Automation to manage their schedule and automation.

March 2004: ETEREreinforces its power on the broadcast worldwide market: CH-3 a Thailand channel is on-air with ETERE Automation.
