Etere Automation will be showcasing its complete range of software solutions as well as new features such as the tape archive manager at booth 8.275. The software is an integrated archive manager, with an intelligent feature enabling it to pre-empt the user`s requests. In the newsroom, for example, when the user starts to browse for information on the prepared tape. the system can anticipate the user's needs before the selection is made by displaying the entire range related to the topic of the video. On me transmission side, the archive manager is connected to the strategic scheduling and is able to select all requests weeks ahead. SDI is not the only way to move video. thanks to FTP {file transfer protocol}. which allows video transfer from VTR. Etere utilises drivers that include E-VTR and XDCam integration. which uses Sony technology for recording on optical disc, The integrated browsing will permit users to preview and record the video in a completely tapeless workflow. A 2.8 version supporting the MOS gateway will also be launched at IBC2005. A distinct feature of this latest version is the integration of a complete search and browsing system.
