The show of football has no more limits, and the relation between football and TV becomes closer and closer. Following the example of English and Spanish clubs, Roma football club has decided to create a thematic pay channel too.

This channel, fully managed by RAI Trade, will start transmissions at the beginning of next football championship 2000/2001.

The satellite channel will be one of D+ platform options. The schedule will include live events, training sessions, exclusive interviews, match replicas, etc. All news related to the “yellow-red” environment will be featured prominently.

The whole system, including ETERE automation, has already been installed.

ETERE has supplied its well-known automation software, including the recording feature that provides for automatic recording from different sources, according to a predetermined timetable.

The software also controls the BMS 1200, a video-server of the American company SeaChange, a A/B switcher & logo generator by Oxtel, video router by Quartz, and some Sony Vtr for both caching and direct playout.

The ETERE driver for the 2 channel Oxtel A/B switcher is very sophisticated, it merges the A/B switcher with the Quartz video router to create a Virtual Master control with 16 channels, complete with preview functions. ETERE Automation features make it perfectly to drive multi source station as Roma Channel.
