Vietnam Television, the national broadcaster of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is the only nation-wide TV in Vietnam. It was formed on September 7th, 1970 from an editorial department of Radio "Voice of Vietnam". In 1976, it was separated from Radio "Voice of Vietnam" and moved to its current location in Giang Vo. Vietnam Television became an official name on April 30th 1987 and since then, it’s also become the national television.
The system controls the following devices. n. 2 omneon mediadeck servers
n. 5 sony Xdcam carts 1080 with 4 Xdcam deck each
n. 2 xdcam decks for ingest
n. 5 master control NEC

VTV ran several channels playout, before Etere system this was the status. VTV 1
• It’s the most important channel. The playout runs on 3 VTR 2 Imx and one betacam. • The tape format is Analog beta
• The commercials tape arrive as pre-compiled break from Traffic department
• No file transfer or automation
• No backup if an error occurs they go on Bars and send alternative program
• Logo control is manual, 90% is the same logo, if it need to be changed they have a switch from logo1 to logo
• Live event are switched, no master control 6 channel router only. VTV 2

VTV 3
• Run a VTR automation system VTR only. • The loading of tapes is 100% manual, with capability of errors
• No secondary events control
VTV 4
• Full caching system based on Media360
• and a VTR for playout also but it’s not used

The master AUTOMATION system automatically transmit four TV programs in accordance with the TV program schedule data. The master AUTOMATION system has basically a dual configuration, a main system and a standby system, and in addition permit manual operation just in case the automatic operation should fail. The manual system also have a dual configuration.
The master AUTOMATION system provide the following functions:
• Management of TV program schedule data for four TV programs
• Automatic switching of master switcher, and control of Mediadeck and Xdcam in accordance with the TV program schedule data
• Automatic start control of the peripheral equipment in accordance with the TV program schedule data. • Data Edit Terminal
Eight data edit terminals have the function of the input and the editing of the TV program schedule data for four TV programs. The data edit terminal input the program frames and event data of the TV program schedule data. The program frames and event data can be changed, added, deleted, copied and pasted.
